Wrens at the school pond

This half term in natural science, we will be investigating some of the animals that live in and around our pond.  We all had a go at Pond Dipping on Friday.

We worked in small groups to learn how to safely scoop into the pond with a net.  We then had to quickly but carefully put any creatures from the net into a tray of pondwater, so that we could look at them without harming them.

We saw many tiny creatures. There was great excitement when the children found that they had caught some tadpoles!

Afterwards, the trays were gently emptied back into the pond.  We will be doing more dipping over the next few weeks.

Our Schools

Synergy Multi-Academy Trust comprises fifteen Norfolk schools serving children between the ages of 2 and 18. Our schools work collaboratively together to raise standards and provide education of the highest possible standard, offering the best of opportunities for pupils. The Trust was initially established in 2015. We believe that all of our schools have strengths and areas to develop, and that all can improve through sharing expertise and wisdom. The Trust understands that there will be excellent practice in each school, and that every school will be able to contribute to the development of the Trust as a whole.
